The Tepee

EXPERIENCE the MAGIC of the TEPEE

The Tepees on our campsite are made as per the original Native American type. Tepees used to be made out of bison skins sewn together with tendon wire. Native Americans also slept on bison skins and there was a small fire in the middle of the Tepee to provide warmth and to prepare diner.

Our 7-meters Tepees are made of 15 poles 9 meters high. The cotton canvas is dipped in polyester to make it waterproof. Following the tradition, the door of each of our Tepees is facing the East and the rising sun. A large opening at the top of the Tepee can be kept close or not, weather permitted, to fully enjoy the moon and the stars.

The tents are very comfortable with beds, real mattresses, pillows, bed spreads (your bed is already made when you arrive) and towels, if you wish. Rental of a set of towels is 5 Euros a week (1 large towel, 2 small towels and 2 wash cloths).

Each Tepee has its own camping kitchen with many accommodations: a wide cooling-box, a 3-burners portable stove…

You will find a picnic table, an umbrella and relaxing chairs in front of each door.

There is a lot of spare space for 6 persons in a 7-meters Tepee (there was once a party with 52 people and a campfire in such a Tepee).

All our camping guests use our brand new sanitary building which is equipped with 4 toilets, 4 showers and 4 washing vasques with hot water.

Our goal is to offer our campers an adventure, yet with all the comfort. “Camping certainly, but then differently!”
